Upon landing back at the BAU, JJ helped you off the jet and carried your go-bag for you. Your face fell, the others looking at you confused, but you were too tired to be questioned about it, simply asking if you all could just drive to the jet and go home. “This could’ve been a lot worse.” She said sternly, before leaving the hospital room. Thin smiles appeared on their faces - all apart from Emily, who rolled her eyes and let out a faint sigh. “I’m fine, you guys,” You said wearily, trying to reassure them. Everyone was frantic, JJ and Morgan helping you into the ambulance, the team’s nerves only calming when you were given the all clear. He was sent flying to the ground, a single bullet from Emily taking him out as they rushed to help you. He towered over you, as you quickly accepted what was about to happen, until he wasn’t above you anymore. Last thing you remember, you were following the unsub down the alley - then you were leaping back quickly to dodge his knife - not quick enough apparently, falling to the ground, attempting to put pressure on the large, fresh gash going horizontally across your torso. Truth is, you have no idea what happened - it all went down so fast. Better than to follow the unsub alone, better than to corner him, putting yourself in danger. You were too disappointed in yourself to talk about it. Every so often you felt a different pair of eyes linger on you, but you ignored each glance. You sat alone at the back of the jet, curled into yourself, clutching your abdomen, gently rubbing at the bandages. Warnings : Mentions of violence, blood, guns Summary : After being reprimanded by Emily after a nearly fatal mistake in the field, you realise why she’d been so harsh.
